Marjorie Taylor Greene suspended on Twitter (for real time) over Vaccine Tweets

The third time is the charm of Twitter and far-right Congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene, after Green received a 12-hour suspension on the platform that was really, really deliberate and not a strange accident.

Greene was suspended for two recent tweets that contained lies about COVID-19. In particular, he argued that the disease is not dangerous for people under 65 who are not overweight in an effort to support compulsory vaccination.

“We have taken action against @mtgreenee for violating Twitter rules, specifically the misleading Covid-19 information policy,” Twitter said Monday. Greene could be permanently suspended if she continues to spread misinformation.

While it is true that the majority of COVID deaths in the United States were elderly, nearly 150,000 of the more than 600,000 American deaths from the disease are under the age of 65. And just over a third of people treated for COVID were younger than 65. The new increase in delta-fed cases is predominant in people under the age of 50, while cases have dropped significantly in people over 65. years.

Greene’s account had previously been suspended in March and again in April “by mistake”, he said on Twitter. The company blamed its algorithm for the suspensions and said it was not the result of human actions. However, Green’s account was legally suspended in January after he spread lies about the 2020 election results.
